Andrew Mitchell, Lead News Editor
Andrew Mitchell, a senior, currently works as the lead news editor for Tower. He said News pieces interest him due to their surprising effect on readers. He enjoys finding out the information that other people don’t have and providing it to them. Mitchell’s passion for news stems from growing up in a family that’s been very interested in the news.
Designing layouts is a puzzle with no answer for Mitchell. He always has to think about what looks best for a given situation and then try some new tricks.
Mitchell wrote a piece on student sports betting last year that made him very proud because he loves the process of finding out why people choose to do something that is illegal and then sharing this “breaking news” to the community. Outside of Tower, Mitchell spends his time on fencing, boys’ volleyball, and photography. He continues to pursue his enthusiasm of photography by taking all his journalism story photos himself. Along with holding a leadership position on Tower, Mitchell also serves as Gold Key's co-chair.
