Tregar: Declassified

Kristen Tregar:  science teacher, Irish playwright and culinary wizard.  Also horseback rider, lead singer of the faculty band and game of thrones enthusiast, K Tregs has many different facets that make her the teacher we all know and love.  But what about her life beyond the confines of the Masters campus, who truly is Ms. Tregar?

Tregar is fluent in both English and French.  In addition she has studied German, Gaelic, and Arabic.  She has  traveled to every continent except Australia and Antarctica.  And when  she was in high school, she lived in Belgium for a month on a cattle farm.

Furthermore, she has a degree in forensics.  She interned with the police for a year and helped solve several cases.  Additionally, she studied archaeology which she thoroughly enjoyed.  And, previous to teaching she was a zookeeper, where she worked with the sea lions.

Tregar met her husband in 11th grade.  As she puts it, he went to “artsy weird kid school that was down the street.”  They have dated ever since.  Her husband Sam is a gamer who primarily plays Fifa.  He also brews his own coffee and plays a Chinese board game called GO.  Tregar herself is a gamer as well and has logged over 500 hours playing Skyrim.

The intrepid traveler-teacher has three tattoos, the most interesting and recent of which is on her wrist. Written in the druid language of Ogham,  the tattoo translates as “if” and is a reference to the Spartans response to Phillip of Macedonia.  Phillip said to the Spartans, “If I conquer you, you will all be slaves,” to which the Spartans simply replied “If.”  This spirit of confidence and defiance has allowed Tregar to succeed in the diverse paths she has taken and will continue to guide her towards living a fun and adventure-filled life.
