JCC leaders inform the community on antisemitism

Today, during a special Morning Meeting hosted by Jewish Culture Club (JCC), the Upper School gathered to honor Holocaust Remembrance Day. Miriam Emery, the advisor for JCC and chair of the English department, along with several other students, spoke about modern day antisemitism. The event included personal anecdotes from the students, as well as videos covering the historical context that surrounds antisemitism.

The advanced topics in Spanish language and culture class poses before heading out on a parranda in Dec. 2025. The annual tradition, led by Upper School Spanish Teacher Roberto Mercedes, traverses buildings across campus to spread holiday cheer. This year’s parranda will take place on the Thursday and Friday before winter break. The class will sing songs like Alegre Vengo, Traigo La Trulla and Feliz Navidad.

The Reunion Weekend celebrating classes ending in 0s and 5s happened on Saturday, May 17. It held a special ceremony for the Class of 2020, who had to participate in a socially distanced decorated car procession five years ago instead of the traditional graduation ceremony due to COVID-19 regulations. The reunion included brunch, a recognition event for the Class of 2020 on Graduation Terrace and a maypole celebration that involved both alumni and current students at Masters. Jeff Carnevale, the dean of the Class of 2020, photographed the returning alumni.
