Access to schools with a variety of APs among the racial and ethnic subgroups in New York State (5)

Because of the systemic inequities in the US, Black and Hispanic students often have less access to the schools with a wide range of AP classes. The states can reduce this barrier by increasing funding to the schools in low-income districts or districts with predominantly Black or Latino population. The data was adapted from the 2015-16 Civil Rights Data Collection and the Center for American Progress report “Closing Advanced Coursework Equity Gaps for All Students.”
