Alex Bentzien, a senior at The Masters School, is a devoted writer with the hopes of pursuing a career in journalism. Since she joined Tower, Bentzien has held the positions of News Editor and Features Editor, and she is currently one of the two Editors-in-Chief. Although she enjoys this position, Bentzien’s true passion is for investigative writing, which is why she was initially drawn to journalism.

For Bentzien, the best part about writing an article is the interviewing process. She believes this step is a crucial component in determining the quality of her writing. The article Bentzien is most proud of was an interview she conducted with the advisor for the Marjory Stoneman Douglas school newspaper, Melissa Falkowski. Bentzien was able to emotionally connect with her interviewee, which enabled her to write what she believes to be her best article throughout her time on Tower staff.
