Shawn Farhadian, Lead Sports Editor
Shawn Farhadian, a budding journalist from Tuxedo Park, New York, refers to writing as his life’s passion. A high school senior and lead sports editor for Tower, his enthusiasm towards journalism is intoxicating.
In the summer of 2018, Farhadian commenced a writing internship with sports media company 12up.com, where he wrote 179 short form articles and received over 800,000 clicks on his articles ranging from topics on the NBA, MLB, NFL, NCAA Football, and NCAA Basketball.
Starting his journalism career simply through ranting on Facebook about issues surrounding the New York Knicks, Farhadian’s words caught the eye of Tower Editor-In-Chief Emeritus, Ariel Censor, who soon had him writing columns for the newspaper.
After that initial breakthrough, he hit his stride as a journalist and has been referred to as a “natural” by his peers on the Tower staff.
