Boys JV1 basketball dominates first game of the season

December 11. The Masters School played Rye Country Day School in a junior varsity boys basketball game. The Panthers had a very good start to the season, winning by 16 points and comfortably holding the lead with a final score of 55-39.

Coach Neil Jaggernauth said he thought the game went really well for it being the first of the season. According to him, the star of the game was Zach Stewart, ‘27, guard,  who scored a total of  16 points in the game. Another honorable mention is Dolapo Akinwande ‘25, a forward, who proved to be a strong asset, earning the team 9 points.

Akinwande humbly reflected on his performance in this first game. He said, “I think I could’ve done better, like I mean, sure, second highest scorer,  but there was a lot I think I could improve on, especially on my ball defense, stuff like that.”
