shared by the White House, propaganda has evolved with the technology of its time. In today’s digital landscape, social media algorithms amplify both awareness and misinformation. As students scroll, they must learn to question, compare sources and recognize how narratives are shaped online.

skull, symbolizing the negative mental and physical effects of looksmaxxing. A common looksmaxxing technique, “bone-smashing,” harms participants in the hopes of creating micro frac-
tures to increase bone mass. While
no students have gone on the record as having engaged in bone-smashing, they have talked about various other ways in which they have succumb to the trend of looksmaxxing.

        Beginning in early 2026, there has been a massive trend that has hit
social media everywhere: “2026 is the new 2016”. Whether it’s a slideshow
depicting nostalgic photos, or even people living a lifestyle that aligns with
the era, there is an evident yearning for past times. However, there were
aspects of 2016 that were bad for some. So why is it being celebrated?

        Bella Danahy-Levine '26 throws a bowl on the pottery wheel in the ceramics studio. Danahy-Levine, Bennet Sonnenberg '26 and Caitlin Berry '28 are spearheading the event under the guidance of Upper School Visual Art Teacher Stephanie Mestyan. The Empty Bowls team will sell bowls on May 1, and the proceeds will go to Feeding Westchester.

        Selas Douglas, the associate head of school for inclusive excellence, was key to the planning and execution of the celebration. He gave opening and closing remarks, helped to organize the day's curriculum and guided student diversity ambassadors.
