Sophomore Akari Kawabata gained an interest in journalism after working with a local journalist in the 7th grade. As an avid reader, she enjoys spending her free time curled up with a realistic fiction book. Having a penchant for the arts, she enjoys sketching animals and can make origami cranes out of any material. Since joining the school in the 9th grade, she has cemented her spot on campus and you may spot her running around one of the fields as part of the girls JV soccer team or on the court with the girls JV basketball team. Besides her extracurriculars, Akari also enjoys her history classes and watching NBA games with her father.
