Elaina Barreto 27’ serves as the lead opinion editor for Tower this year. Barreto is an experienced writer and page designer who started in the eighth grade Middle School newspaper, The Doc. According to Barreto, being determined, hard working and meeting story deadlines on time are important qualities to be in Tower. She aims to be the Lead Doc editor and help Middle Schooler’s further develop their newspaper program. When talking about her future, Barreto is considering pursuing a major in writing or psychology in college. This year, she took a summer program with  Barnard College at Columbia University. In addition to journalism, Barreto also participates in cross country and musicals.
