Elaina Barreto, Lead News Editor
Elaina Barreto has loved writing since elementary school. The long time native of Masters entered the realm of journalism through the Middle School newspaper: The Doc. Barreto’s cultivating experience at The Doc motivated her to return as the lead Doc editor this year. Barreto said, “I aim to develop Middle School students’ journalism skills and encourage them to pursue journalism in the future.” Her favorite piece—the award winning Opening Windows and Doors: How the arts inspire change in incarcerated individuals and how their art inspires change—represents the heartening and inspiring social topics she favors writing. This year in Tower, Barreto serves as the lead news editor.
