Senior Sophie Grand, currently Tower’s chief design editor, is in her second year on staff, previously serving as an opinion editor.

Grand plays an active role in the Masters community as the leader of two clubs, Upcycled and American Sign Language, and a co-captain of the girls varsity tennis team.

Outside of school, Grand participates in Sunday Funday, a community-service initiative where volunteers engage with developmentally disabled children. Serving as the volunteer manager this year, Grand has played a pivotal role in this organization for the last six years in her leadership positions.

The Billion Dollar Tweet, Grand’s most memorable article, written with Editor-in-Chief Mitch Fink, included an interview with late NBA Commissioner David Stern.

Grand said she hopes to produce meaningful and intriguing layouts as Tower’s chief design editor this year, and plans to continue pursuing the fields of journalism, design and communication beyond high school.
