Niki Agrawal, a sophomore, is seen here working on his guitar skills. During WinterMission, the “Guitar Works” course taught all things guitar to beginners and advanced students. Over the four days, students worked hands-on: they learned about and used amps, tuned their own instruments, practiced essential chords and made practice goals to better their skills. At the end of the week, the young musicians got to meet and talk with Mike Meadows, who is superstar Taylor Swift’s co-band leader and who has been playing with her since 2009.
Students in the “The Art of the Feast: Cooking, Hosting and Connection” WinterMission look at their central piece of their traditional Puerto Rican roast, a pig. This WinterMission was dedicated to preparing this large meal over the course of four days. On the last day, the feast was held in a hill dorm dining room, and the students and faculty of the course connected through their hard work.
