Senior Lexi Wachen, holds the title of co-lead Features Editor, helping Tower design and work on layouts.
Wachen described her initial interest in Tower.
“In freshman year, I saw the newspaper and thought it looked cool, so in sophomore year I joined Tower,” Wachen said.
On January 27, 2021, Wachen published an article called, ‘What we can learn from Holocaust Remembrance Day’. It won the Best of Student Newspapers Online (SNO) award, which showcases the best student journalists among the SNO network.
In this article, Wachen reminds us that even though the Holocaust was an event of the past, Jew’s still face persecution to this day.
“We must all come together to educate, vocalize, and fight antisemitism before it’s too late,” Wachen wrote.
In addition to her passion for writing, Wachen participates in field hockey, softball, theater and she loves spending time in nature.
