2014 New Year’s Resolutions Fail

I never used to make New Year’s resolutions because I knew I was too lazy to change anything in any case. One of my friends forced me to change this at the beginning of 2014. She told me to come up with five resolutions and she’d also create five for herself. We were going to see if we kept our resolutions by the end of the year. (For some weird reason, she thought that this was a really fun thing to do). Today I decided to share my five resolutions for 2014 with you to see how many I was able to accomplish. I think most of you can guess the results from the title…

1) Stop eating too much junk food and eat healthier

I always eat too much junk food because it is ALL SO GOOD (especially, chocolate-covered pretzels). So for 2014, I had decided to cut down the junk food and be healthier… Eating five brownies mixed with frozen yogurt for lunch shows that I did not even come close to succeeding with this resolution.

2) Read ten books

This is the only one that I actually accomplished and I am really proud of myself. I actually managed to read fourteen books (disregarding my Harry Potter re-reads). I know fourteen is not such a big number but I am the slowest reader ever, so this is actually an accomplishment for me.

3) Stop judging random people

I feel bad that I failed at this resolution horribly but it is very hard to control. I almost feel like I was born judging people.

4) Stop buying random and useless things

I am always easily tricked by advertisements into buying useless gadgets and this year was no different than the other ones. You can’t pass my room without finding at least ten random and useless things (including my Harry Potter Wand). Just one of the “must-haves” I bought was a phone case that had a ninja on it and which glows in the dark (no regrets).

5) Stop procrastinating

I saved the worst for the last; I think I got even worse with procrastination in 2014. Though I didn’t think that was possible, starting to study for my math test on the bus to school proved me wrong.

For 2015, I am going to have the same resolutions and I suggest you come up with a few for yourself. Next year we will see how we did and I guess we can laugh at how I failed again. And then we can see how you did…
