Dorm Lip-Sync competition for the 2026-2027 school year

Categories:

The annual lip sync competition for the 26-27 school year kicked off with a frenzy of excitement this past weekend in Doc Wilson Hall. The six dorms on campus spent many hours preparing for what many think of as the most exciting dorm event of the year. Along with choreographing a dance and conveying a theme, each dorm must create a lip synch music mash-up.

While the goal may seem to just be the dorm with the best idea or dance performance, the true objective is group bonding and to come closer together as a boarding community.

This year’s new director or residential life, PilarMéndez-Cruz, commented on the event. She said “This is my first time ever attending a lip sync for our boarding community, but in the days or even weeks leading up to it, it was really exciting to see all the dorms come together and really help one another.”

She added,, “There were so many people there cheering them on, so many dorm parents who weren’t on duty, so many residential faculty, who are not on duty this weekend, who all showed up, because clearly this is a tradition people love and care about.”

This year’s lip sync was an afternoon to remember, leaving students and faculty looking forward to next year’s contest.
