“The Queen” Declassified

Small but mighty, Ms. Dennis has been a fixture at Masters for the past 16 years.  Although she took a two year break, “The Queen,” as she is affectionately known, has been enlightening youth on all things math for longer than most of you all were alive.

What is really fascinating about Ms. Dennis, is how fitting her most recently acquired nickname of “the queen” actually is.  Being a celebrity runs in her blood.  Her step-father was a drummer for a band big in the indie crowd, but it was her mother who started the celebrity trend among the women in her family.  Her mother regularly hung out with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, and Robert Plant.  In fact, her mother dated Jim Morrison.  However, he was too weird for her, so she kicked him to the curb.

Having a mother who casually walked among rock legends, Ms. Dennis could often be found doing her homework back stage during Pink Floyd and many other famous rock band concerts.  Despite not being able to work quietly at home, Ms. Dennis was the first of her family to make it to university.  Not only did she make it to university, but she made it to Oxford, and did her graduate work at Cornell.  It is from this strong educational background that she has earned her right to use her favorite comeback when responding to being called short by students.  “You may tower over me, but intellectually I tower over you.”
