On Thursday, students began to receive emails from their class presidents notifying them of the walk out. Many students also posted flyers on their social media.

SUPREME COURT CASE LOUISIANA v. Callais has limited the protections against gerryman- dering, which is the manipulation of district borders in order to give a political advantage for a party or group. In 2026, the case weakened previous protections mandated in the Voting Rights Act of 1965 intended to prevent gerrymandering that discriminated based on race. Without con- stitutional protection, state courts will now be a major decider for limits on gerrymandering.

Municipal updates are visible along local walkways this season. The Village of Dobbs Ferry is actively enforcing its restrictions on gas-powered leaf blowers. This initiative represents a clear civic step toward reducing local noise pollution and environmental emissions.
Gas powered leaf blowers signal actions
Students throw roses in the air as they officially transition from seniors to graduates. The students either wore a rose on their suit or carried a white basket of roses during the event. Many students also wore blue suits with a white and blue checkered tie or a white dress to match the white decorations.
